When casinos were permitted to reopen on June 4, MGM Resorts reopened the Bellagio, New York-New York, and MGM Grand and its neighboring Signature. According to statistics from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, visitor traffic in June 2020 down 70% compared to June 2019. MGM began to slowly reopen its properties in Las Vegas back in June after getting clearance from Nevada's gaming regulators. Park MGM and NoMad are operating within MGM Resorts’ Seven-Point Safety Plan, a multi-layered set of protocols and procedures designed in conjunction with medical and scientific experts to mitigate the spread of the virus, including masks required in all public spaces. The Spa and Salon will also open with limited hours and services.
Park MGM’s pool oasis will open with limited hours, but The NoMad Pool will remain closed closed. Several amenities will reopen as well, including Italian marketplace Eataly Las Vegas, Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar, and The NoMad Bar. Upon reopening, the 2,993-room resort will be the first to go fully smoke-free on the Las Vegas Strip. The hotels (NoMad is located on the upper floors of the building) have been shuttered since March when it closed because of the pandemic. “The opening of Park MGM and NoMad represents a significant milestone as we continue down the path of Las Vegas’ recovery,” said Anton Nikodemus, president of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas Portfolio. With Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas are reopening their doors Wednesday, it marks the final MGM Resorts’ properties around the world to open following COVID-19 closures.
